Cleveland Clinic

Dedicated to the conquest of Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and all forms of memory disorders, the Las Vegas-based Lou Ruvo Brain Institute (LRBI) is scheduled to open early 2009. Designed by Frank Gehry, the building will serve as the cornerstone of the emerging Union Square business and living district downtown and each level will be dedicated to a different aspect of patient care and research – a monument to science, technology and compassion.

Throughout 2008, the R&R Partners Foundation provided LRBI with public relations, creative work, event production and government affairs services, toward the goal of securing a top tier medical research facility as a partner. The brand positioning campaign we created and launched – “New Thinking About Thinking” – has been a great source of pride for the R&R team as it encapsulates the guiding philosophy of founder Larry Ruvo and represents the mindset that each partner has brought to the project. To ensure that this message moves forward consistently as the organization continues to grow, we created the LRBI Style Guide for internal and external communications as well as a 2008 – 2009 marketing plan, which will be our roadmap for the first critical years of LRBI’s existence.

With the recent announcement that the Cleveland Clinic will be joining the institute as its primary medical partner, LRBI reached a critical milestone in its legacy. Our mission moving forward will be to position this new facility as the premier Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative research facility in the world by sharing stories of its prestigious doctors and researchers, accomplished staff, patients and their families with the national and international media. We look forward to continuing this important work leading up to the opening date and beyond.
