In July of 2010, the Opportunity Village thrift store located on Main Street was completely destroyed by fire, displacing dozens of Opportunity Village clients, for whom these jobs provide both financial and social independence. The R&R handled all public relations outreach, sponsored a clothing and household goods drive to help restock the lost inventory, and worked with Las Vegas celebrity and comedian Terry Fator to raise money get the store back on its feet. OV’s Thrift Store has since moved to a new location and has enjoyed a welcome spike in revenue thanks to increased community support.
